The Maigari of Lokoja, HRH. Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi 1V, has urged the newly turbaned BADAKOSHI OF LOKOJA and Speaker Kogi state House of assembly, Rt. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, to help the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman in building a stronger economy.
The Royal father made the call at the turbaning Ceremony of Four illustrious sons of Lokoja in his palace in Lokoja,on Saturday.
Maikarfi also urged them to innovate more ways of helping the less privileged in society.
The four illustrious sons are, Speaker of Kogi state House of assembly, Rt. Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf as the BADA KOSHI OF LOKOJA,Alhaji Muhammad Bala Haruna, Shantalin of Lokoja , Alhaji Ibrahim Sulaiman Danladi Barazana, TSOFADA OF LOKOJA and Hon Idi Ibrahim, as the SARKIN FAWA OF LOKOJA.
He said the conferment and turbaning was based on their selfless service to their various communities.
“Your appointment is deserving because you have assisted people in the area of education and empowerment. Please continue to do that,” Kabir said.
He noted that Nigerians will continue to benefit from the goodwill of Lokoja emirate Council whose leadership good heart always thinks positively about the people.
The monarch called on Nigerians to always be their brother keeper irrespective of political and geographical location.
Speaking in an interview, the Shantalin of Lokoja, Alhaji Muhammad Bala Haruna expressed gratitude to the Maigari of Lokoja and the Emirate for the honour.
He promised to continue to offer support to vulnerable communities in Lokoja especially in the area of education.
The new ‘tsofada of Lokoja, Alhaji Sulaiman’ who also spoke in an interview promised to use his new traditional title to champion a united Lokoja emirate Council.
He thanked Maigari of Lokoja whom he described as “father, guardian .
“I want assure the good people of Lokoja emirate Council that I’ll justify the confidence reposed in me as a member of Lokoja traditional title holders ” he said.
Also speaking in an interview with newsmen, Sarkin Fawan Lakwaja,Hon. Idi Ibrahim expressed his gratitude and that of his entire family to the Maigari of Lokoja.
“I want to expressed my gratitude on behalf of late Alhaji Idi Muhammad family for the honour done to us .
You’ll recall that my father aspired to be the Sarkin Fawa, today, God have destined for Maigari of Lokoja to turbaned me as the sarkin Fawa ,we are grateful ” Idi said .
Sarkin Fawan ( head of butchers) is one of the traditional title given to major Hausa personality who significantly contributed for the progress of the society.
