Chief Imam of Lokoja, sheikh Muhammad Aminu Sha’aban, has called on parents to ensure proper upbringing of their children.
Sha’aban made the call on Monday in Lokoja at the naming ceremony of the Daughter of Alhaji Zakari Abubakar Ola.
The Islamic Cleric said that children were special gifts from God and should be brought up in a godly manner as such children would contribute positively to the development of the society.
Also speaking, the Speaker Kogi state House of assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf congratulated Alhaji Zakari saying the arrival of a new baby was a blessing from God.
Yusuf prayed that God should give the parents the wisdom and strength to train the child.
Earlier, Sheikh Abubakar Adamu,who presided over the recitation of Holy quran, urged parents to ensure proper training of their children in a godly way.
He equally prayed for leaders and for the unity, peace, progress and development of the state and Nigeria.
Responding on behalf of Zakari Abubakar Ola,Hon Abubakar Bukky Muhammad , appreciated all the guests at the occasion.
Bukky prayed for journey mercy for all the dignitaries and other well-wishers to their various destinations.
He equally prayed for leaders and for the unity, peace, progress and development of the state and Nigeria.
ThEANLYSTNG also reports that dignitaries that attended the naming ceremony included,: Speaker Kogi state House of assembly, Rt. Hon.Aliyu Umar Yusuf,Member representing Lokoja/Kogi federal Constituency,Hon. Sulaiman Danladi Aguye,State Commissioner for water Resources, Engineer Muhammad Danladi Yahaya and representative of Maigari of Lokoja.
Others were, Hon Haruna Isah, former member representing Lokoja/Kogi federal Constituency, APC council Chairmanship candidate,Comrade Abdullahi Adamu,APC, leader and Shatima of Lokoja,Hon. Muhammad Mabo Kasim, politicians, party leaders, traditional rulers, among other well-wishers.
