The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi 1V, has approved the appointment of Hon. Idi Ibrahim As the new SARKIN FAWA OF LOKOJA
His appointment was based on the recommendations of the committee setup by HRH Maigari to screen all the contestants.
In an appointment letter signed by the emirate secretary Alhaji Nalado Usman said the appointment takes immediate effect.
In an interview with ThEANLYSTNG reporter on his achievements as acting secretary and chairman of butchers Association for over two decades, Idi Ibrahim said :
Born 56 years ago,Idi Ibrahim is Secretary of Lokoja Butchers Association (LBA) served in acting capacity as Secretary, Lokoja Butchers Association,for 20 years.
Current Acting Chairman,Kogi state butchers Union, National Assistant Financial Secretary of the Union.
Secretary,Kogi state International market Lokoja ,Kogi state.
Between 1997-1998, I contested and Won the position of Councillorship of my ward ,Ward D ” and represented my ward D in Lokoja Local Government council.
Idi Ibrahim is currently working with the Lokoja Local Government Education Authority,(LGEA) as a Director
Educational Qualification.
Teacher Grade 2, National Certificate For Education (NCE)Okene( read Islamic Studies/Education.
Proceeded to University of Jos where he graduated in Bachelor of Arts (Degree) on Guidance and Counselling, Social Studies education.
Seminars attended includes : Quality Assurance of Beef( Meat) hygiene and security. Two term recipient of Quality leadership from Coalition Of Civil Society Of Nigeria,Maitama Abuja.
The award was bestowed on me in recognition of my meritorious ,selfless service to humanity, contributions to Kogi state Butchers Union and kogi in particular.
EXPERIENCE AND ACHIEVEMENTS
My Contributions towards the development of butchers in the state can be overemphasized. The modernization and provision of quality and hygienic beef (meat) to customers in the state is one of the major achievements recorded in decades.
It’s on record that when I assumed office,the following progress was made; Butchers Union Constitution was review renaming the Association”Butchers Development Association and registered with the Kogi state Government.
Others are; Allocation of Shops and spaces to members in Felele and international Market for business.
Construction and upgrading of Abattoir ( Slaughter’s Slab) Felele and Sarkin Noma market ( Kasuwan Ruwa)
I also serve as liaison officer between the Union and kogi state Government, Security Agencies and Medical officers(Vetenary Doctors ) in Lokoja and Kogi state at large.
As a Member of National Executive of Butchers Union, Kogi butchers development Association benefitted through my position, 1 number of Refrigerated meat van worth N25m donated by former president Muhammadu Buhari.
Similarly,I used my position to provide Portal water by Kogi state ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, where boreholes were sucked in lokoja Abattoir
Electrification and Generator Set for pumping water in Abattoir, provision of Security, to secure the environment, life and property of members,
Introduction of Welfare Packages Which includes; Financial Assistant from the union’s purse . Contributions towards bereaved family members, payment of hospital bills for members amongst many.
I upgraded infrastructures in zango cattle market , Felele, virtually most of the facilities in zango and the progress recorded was due to my contributions.
Unity of member and peaceful coexistence among tribe .
As mentioned on,the union have witnessed peace and harmony, irrespective of tribe, religious or political afflictions under my leadership
Finally, Sir, with my academic qualification, wealth of experiences and achievement for Lokoja Butchers Association, and one of the National Executive of Butcher Union, I hope my interest for the appointment as the new Sarkin Fawa of Lokoja will be considered for your recommendation to His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Kabir Maikarfi IV, for Approval for me to enable me to revive the lost glory of the Butchers Union and Zango (Cattle Market) of Lokoja.
