An unprecedented event occurred today at the Lokoja LGA Council Hall as the Staff in Local Government Secretariat throng into the Hall to celebrate the extension of the tenure of the Local Government Caretaker Chairman.
The DLG, Alh. Musa Omuwa in his address stated that the event is unprecedented in history of Kogi State for local government Staff to wholeheartedly organise
“It is unusual for local government Staff to praise Chairmen let alone organise an event to celebrate the extension of a tenure. If you know Lokoja Local Government Staff very well, you would know that we don’t sugarcoat issues or sing praises but this is an exception because of the achievement of the Chairman in just 6 Months.”
The DLG urged the Caretaker Chairman to continue in the trajectory that has endeared him into the hearts of not only the civil servants but the general public.
The Lokoja LG NULGE Chairman, Comrade Bala noted that “for those who know Comrade Abdul, it is not a surprise that he is performing. He has a record of performance and delivery in any assignment given to him.” He assured the Chairman of the Staff’s continued support.
The Chairman thanked the Staff for the honours and promised to do his best and ensure that their welfare remained his priority.
“Whatever we have been able to do is down to team work, cooperation and the synergy among the Transition Committee with the active participation and support of the Stakeholders in the Local Government under the leadership of His Excellency Alhaji Suleiman Baba Ali.”
“His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo means well and that has manifested in many areas. As civil servants you can attest to the fulfillment of many promises made by the Governor.”
In his contribution, the Member representing Lokoja 1 State Constituency, Hon. Bin Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani urged the workers to continue to support the Administration to enable them to do more. He assured the Workers that the Kogi State Assembly under Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf is committed to leaving legacies and would continue to make laws that will better the lives of Kogites.
The elated Staff who came out in their numbers to celebrate with the Caretaker Chairman commended the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for extending the tenure of the Lokoja LGA Caretaker Chairman Comrade Abdullahi Adamu for another 6 Months. They prayed Almighty Allah to grant the Governor the enablement to implement all the arrears of their promotions.
In his vote of thanks, The Local Government Secretary, Hon. Egamana Emmanuel thanked the Workers for the synergy and cooperation with the political appointees headed by the Caretaker Chairman.
