In a remarkable turn of events, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Stakeholders in Lokoja local government have endorsed Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, transition chairman of Lokoja Local Government ahead of October 19th Council elections .
The endorsement was the outcome of a meeting attended by APC leadership,ward chairmen and women leaders respectively.
Responding,Comrade Adamu who was overwhelmed,thanked the party leaders for nominating and endorsing him to be the flag bearer of All progressive Congress in forthcoming local government election .
Adamu disclosed this in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Comrade Iliyasu Zakari in Lokoja on Sunday.
He expressed his gratitude to God Almighty and the entire leadership of the party in the local government for showing faith in his capacity and ability.
“Firstly, I must thank God Almighty for life and the Grace of good health and sound mind. Secondly, I want to thank His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for giving me the privileged opportunity to serve the Lokoja Local Government as Transition Committee Chairman.”
“I would like to sincerely express my unreserved gratitude to the leaders of the APC in Lokoja Local Government led by His Excellency Alhaji Suleiman Baba Ali, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, Hon. Bin Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani, Hon. Engr. Farouk Yahaya Muhammed, Hon. Maikudi Bature and all the Stakeholders for the immense support since my appointment in January 2024, and today, for endorsing my ambition to bear the flag of the APC in the local government elections in October.”
Comrade Adamu declared that the endorsement and the support he has received from every corner is highly appreciated and will not be misplaced.
“I must thank everyone for the overwhelming support and encouragement. God’s willing, we will not disappoint you all.”
The endorsement by the Lokoja 2 and Lokoja 1 Party Stakeholder on Saturday, 20th and 21st July respectively is the 3rd and 4th endorsement of Comrade Abdullahi Adamu after the Workers & Staff of Lokoja Local Government (July 9th) and Gbaude Community (July 15th).
Also present at the meeting the to endorse the Chairman include the Kogi State APC Youth Leader, Comrade Mohammed U Mohammed, Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Local Government Affairs and former KSHA Member (LKJ 2) and Alh. Idris Ndako, former Lokoja LGA Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Shiru Lawal, former Speaker of KSHA, Rt. Hon. Abdulrahman Dangana.
Others are former KSHA Member (LKJ 1), Hon. Mustapha Allah-dey, all Party Chairmen of the 10 Wards in Lokoja Local Government Area.
