Atimah Greets Gov. Ododo On Appeal Court Victory

By Musa Tanimu Nasidi

Kogi state Executive Secretary, Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Hon. Mouktar
Atimah, congratulated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Thursday’s judgment of Court of appeal which affirmed him as the winner of the November 2023 governorship election in Kogi state.

The Appeal Court earlier on Thursday affirmed the election of Ododo, which was earlier upheld by the tribunal in Anuja.

The SDP candidate in the election, Muritala Ajaka, had in his appeal claimed that ododo’s election was rigged.

In a statement signed by Atimah said the dismissal of the appeal means that Ododo and his deputy were duly elected governor and deputy governor of Kogi state respectively.

The judgment by the appeal court was a further affirmation that the All Progressives Congress had the support of kogites as reflected in the governorship election.

“I join millions of our supporters to congratulate our amiable governor and deputy governor, Salifu Joel Oyibo.

“It is a victory well-deserved as the Court of Appeal has now proven the Election Petition Tribunal right concerning their earlier rulings in favour of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo”

“On behalf of my colleagues at (SEMA), I also congratulate our party, its leadership, members and supporters as I urge other contenders in the election to join hands with the current administration and support its policies to make Kogi greater,” Atimah said.
