The chairman of Lokoja New Market traders Association, Alhaji Sani Inusa has commended HRH. the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir for innagurating the committee for nomination of SARKIN KASUWA.
Inusa made the commendations on Monday at the inaugural setting of committee setup by HRH Maigari of Lokoja to nominate the head of traders or Sarkin kasuwa, who’ll be representing Lokoja traders in lokoja emir
Inusa, who led the executive team of Lokoja new market trader Association said the decision to appoint Sarkin kasuwa by the royal father is a welcome development.
He said as the chairman of traders Association.
“Ours is to advise the committee for the selection of Sarkin kasuwa, that the new Sarkin kasuwa must be a person who have experienced, knowledge of the market, traders and a leaders who’ll maintained the integrity of the traditional council
Earlier in his opening speech chairman of the committee and Hakimi of ward B, Alhaji Ahmed Bala Sarkin zango said the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi 1V, recently inaugurates the committee charge with the responsibilities of nominating the Sarkin Kasuwa for Lokoja traditional council.
He explained that like others cities in northern part of the country,all markets have Sarkin kasuwa who according his appointed by the royal father to represents traditional council stressing further that Lokoja wouldn’t be different.
“Presently those in the helms of affairs in our markets are local government Staff,they were not appointed or nominated by traders,”
He said the Emirate council is aware of the union and members of their executives
We want you to present an acceptable candidate amongst you for confirmation as the new Sarkin kasuwa;”
He however warned that whoever they may present,is subject to Maigari’s approval.
The committee chairman gave the traders Thursday to present an acceptable candidate.
The committee have all the Hakimi as members.
