The Lokoja Transition Committee Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu today resolved the looming crisis following a report of impeachment of the Chairman of the Motorcycle Transport Union, Lokoja branch Mall. Musa Aliyu Baba by some of the Union’s Executives.
Comrade Abdullahi Adamu had on Tuesday, April 2nd, met with the two warring groups with a view to finding an amicable solution to prevent a possible break down of law and order in the State capital. The Chairman demanded for a more civil approach as against the songs of war being chanted by some of the members.
“The last thing any reasonable person would want to hear is a crisis involving a Union like the Okada Union with it’s large membership because of the impact and untowed hardship it will cause our people. “, he stressed.
The Chairman appeal to both groups to embrace dialogue in resolving their difference.
Both the State and branch Chairmen expressed their appreciation to the council for the mediating role since the crisis began. They agreed to sheath their swords and manage the issues internally in the interest of peace and security of the local government and the state.
