•••As Traditional Title Holders Council Hold Grand Reception In Honour Of Maigari of Lokoja

After forty years of Sallah Dubar in Lokoja Emirate Council,on Wednesday, Lokoja residents gathered to honour HRH the Maigari of Lokoja , Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi 1V.
The event was held at Muhammadu Buhari Square,Lokoja the state capital, was also a reception organised by the Lokoja Traditional Title Holders Council for the monarch.
In his speech ,HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir 1V, commended the immediate past of Kogi state,governor Yahaya Bello for appointing him as the Maigari of Lokoja.
Kabir, who was overwhelmed assured the present administration under gov Ahmed Usman Ododo of his determination to maintained the legacies of his predecessors.
Full text of HRH Maigari’s Speech:
“Introduction
In the name of Allah the most Beneficent and the most Merciful, I am pleased to congratulate all our Muslim Ummah on the successful observance of the year 2024 Ramadan Fasting and the Idel Fitr which marks the end of that one Spiritual exercise. As you are all aware, fasting is enjoined on all healthy adult Muslin, being all over the world by Almighty God. Secondly, | also congratulate all of us for bei amongst those who are still alive to perform the fasting, and hence take advantage of it to gain the numerous rewards and benefits that God bestows on His faithful servant in the holy month. May Allah accept all our acts of Ibadah, forgive our sins and grant Us Aljanna Firdous Amen.
VIRTUES OF RAMADAN
Fasting teaches us self restrain, discipline and obedience to God, amongst other things. | sincerely urge all of us to strive hard to sustain those virtues and show exemplary life in the society in conformity with the life style and teachings of our noble prophet Muhammed ( SAW). Fasting, and indeed Islam, teaches us to be loyal and obedient to constituted authorities and to maintain peace and tranquility in the society. Consequently, | am
using this opportunity to plead with all our citizens to be loyal and obedient to ow leaders at the three tiers of government. That is an essential requirement for meaningful development to thrive in the state and Nigeria as a whole,

This Idel Fitr is the first sallah to be presided over by me following my appointment as Maigari of Lokoja by Kogi State Government. While expressing my profound
Gratitude to the immediate past Governor of the state His Excellency Alh Yahaya adoza Bello and his Successor Alh Ahmed Ododo Usman for conveying the appointment to me, i want to assure the government and all our citizens of Lokoja
my willingness and preparedness to discharge duties faithfully and that includes doing all that is necessary within my power and means to keep the prevailing peace in our community. I Will work hard to sustain the enviable achievements and legacies of my predecessors and even break new records by the grace of God ,ameen . To achieve that, I am soliciting maximum support and cooperation of the entire Citizen so that together we shall lift our ancient town to greater heights.
APPRECIATION
Let me also thank you all for your supports or roles in the selection pro my emergence as the new Maigari of Lokoja as well as the appointment. That has made the celebration more glamorous, unprecedented in the history of Lokoja. God owns the glory.

Lokoja was established on a solid foundation of unity, peace and do everything within our means to keep that foundation solid and of usa peaceful celebration of Idel fitr and the reception.
