The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi 1V, has called on members of Lokoja traditional title holders council on the need to support him in his efforts to move the emirate forward.
He made the appeal during the meeting of Lokoja traditional title holders council held at Reverton Hotel Lokoja,on Saturday.
The royal father solicited for their corporation stressing that the challenges before him are enemous.
The paramount ruler therefore appealed to the traditional title holders to frequently hold meetings as the outcome of the meetings will always guide him.
The meeting was attended by the Gabi sayadi of Lokoja, Alhaji Sulaiman Baba Ali, Talban Lakwaja, Alhaji Ndatsu umaru,Chief Imam of Lokoja Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban, The maiya of Lokoja, Alhaji Lawal jiya and Garkuwa of Lokoja ,barrister Katu Sule.
Other are; Shatima of Lokoja, Alhaji Muhammad Mabo Kasim and the Hakimis of Lokoja among many.
Earlier In his welcome address, chairman of the forum and Lakpeni of Lokoja,Senator Tunde Ogbeha congratulated the Maigari of Lokoja,Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Maikarfi on his well-deserved appointment and installation.
His speech below: “It’s with gratitude to God and a rare privilege that | welcome All of you to this very Important meeting, being the first since the installation of Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV as the Maigari of Lokoja. It’s therefore my honour and privilege to welcome HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi IV to this meeting. As Lokoja title holders, we pledge our allegiance and loyalty to the Maigari to help bring peace and development to Lokoja .
We whole-heartedly congratulate Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Maikarfi the Maigari of Lokoja on his well-deserved appointment and installation. God’s Will and people’s desire have been achieved.
We commend the immediate past Governor who was well guided in making this choice, inspite of the negative nuances of some devilish characters towards the
destruction of the stool of our revered Maigari. We know them,but we leave them in the hands Allah.
The expectations from the people are very high and in summary they are:
A. Promoting pea
ceful co-existence among all tribes and granting religious and political tolerance as your father of blessed memory did very well to the admiration of all Lokojans.
B. Be apolitical. Do not involve yourself in partisan politics and respect must be given to constituted authority who
should equally guarantee your basic rights.
C. The welfare of the people and development of Lokoja must remain your paramount focus.
D. Your reign must be guided by the fear of God, fairness
and justice to all,
The Lokuja traditional title holders council will help create the necessary environment for you to achieve these goals.
We shall not allow pertisan politics or religious intolerance to becloud our proceedings or create disunity amongst us
However those of our members with political clout or influence peddlers with the government of the day, to use them for the benefit of the stool or community rather than sowing seeds of discord and mistrust
Finally, I thank His Royal Highness for deeming it fit to appoint me as the chairman of this great Council of traditional title holders,i do not take your gesture for granted. As Chairman, I will put In my best for pleasant results. I call on members of the council for support, corporation and unity to further the maigari’s agenda for Lokoja.
