Lokoja Local Govt Transition Chairman Assures Igbo Community, Others Of Security

Lokoja Local Government Transition Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has assured the Ibo community doing business in the area of the security of their lives and property.

Adamu said Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has already taken proactive measures to tackle kidnapping incidents and the efforts will soon put criminals on their heels.

In a statement by his special adviser on media,Comrade Illiyasu Zakari said the chairman disclosed this during an interactive meeting with Ibo community in Lokoja on Wednesday.

Theanalyst reports that Ibo business community in Lokoja, on Tuesday, embarked on set- at home protest against what the described as the rampant kidnapping of Ibo businessmen and women by kidnappers in the state.

He further allayed the fears of Ibo business community in the area and urged them not to be discouraged to consider shutting down their investments again.

The chairman further assured them that the present administration would do everything within its powers to ensure that no criminal goes unpunished even as he called on the people to support security operatives in intelligence gathering to enable them succeed.

Earlier,the group spokesman commended Governor Ododo for his prompt response, stressing that ” unlike other governments who would have chosen to turn a blind eye or treat the matter with levity, Kogi State government has shown that it is ready to deal the decisively with the situation” he said .

They expressed their confidence in the administration of Adamu noting that the community would work in synergy with the chairman and his team to foster unity and development of Lokoja local government area and the state at large.
