The Rogan of Eggan, His Royal Highness, Alhassan Muhammed Umaru, has conferred a traditional title of “GABI SAYADI OF EGGEN”(DANIYA) on the immediate past Director of Administration, Lokoja local government and chairman of Daisy Ododo campaign organisation, Engineer Yahaya Muhammad Danladi Farouk.
The royal father announced the conferment of the new traditional title on Farouk at his palace in Lokoja on Saturday when the Hakimi of ward D, Malam Isah Baba Nasidi led the delegation to the palace for a thank you visit .
Speaking while he received the delegations,Umaru said the Council decided to confer the title on the Farouk following his good contributions for the development of the community and people of the state.
“We confer him with this title for the great support given to the Eggan traditional institution across the state, especially during his tenure as the DLG.
“It is part of the tradition of this Council to honour leaders and people who contributed to the development of the community and entire Lokoja local government area” he said.
Earlier,the Hakimi of ward D, Malam Isah Baba Nasidi informed the royal father that they were in his palace to expressed their gratitude onbhalf of ward D community for the honour done to their son.
He thanked Umaru and assured him that engineer Farouk wouldn’t disappoint him.
Engineer Farouk while speaking in an interview with journalists thanked the Rogan and Egan traditional council for the honour given to him and assured them that he would continue to work for the development of the community.
The new Gabi sayadi of Eggan, Engineer Yahaya Muhammad Danladi Farouk, was accompanied by the Chief Imam of Lokoja Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban,Imam of Unguwan Kowa mosque, sheikh Abubakar Adamu,former Speaker, Kogi state House of assembly,Rt. Hon. Umar Imam and some other officials and Chieftain of the ruling APC in the state.
Highlights of the event was visit to His Royal Highness, Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi 1V in his Palace.
