With the maiden matriculation of pioneer students at the recently established Kogi state University, Kabba, which took place few days back, a Peoples’ Democratic Party chieftain and former member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. TeeJay Yusuf, has commended the Kogi state Government for establishing the institution, and urged the cooperation and support of people from the Okun Nation towards the growth and development of the university.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Yusuf said, “the establishment of the university is a worthy recognition of the huge educational potentials and fulfillment of the desires of the good people of Okun Nation which cuts across five local government areas of Kogi West. It is necessary to stress that the institution though sited in Kabba, is for the immediate and future benefits of the entire Okun Nation. Our people across villages, towns, and communities are advised to not only contribute to the growth of the university but also explore and exploit every available opportunities to boost economic development in and around our LGAs”
Continuing Yusuf declared that, “the Kogi state Government deserves commendation for the wise decision in establishing a university in Okunland; a sub-regional zone whose major industry is education and has being contributing immensely to the workforce of Kogi state. As the KSUK officially takes-off, I appeal to the KGSG to ensure that necessary steps and decisions are put in place towards progressive development of the institution.”
Concluding Yusuf congratulated, “all those who played roles in the establishment and commencement of academic activities at the KSUK. Indeed, it is the collective efforts, desires, and prayers of the entire Okun Nation, and other progressive-minded friends, colleagues, associates, and compatriots that made this possible. For this, as I congratulate all, I also appreciate every one for our respective tenacity, focus, and doggedness. I pray that the KSUK will kick-start massive development across the entire Okunland.”
