The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir, senior son of late Maigari of Lokoja,Late (Dr)Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi as the new Maigari of Lokoja.
Ibrahim succeeded the late Maigari of Lokoja,who died September last year.
It was gathered that Lokoja Emirate kingmakers had unanimously selected the new Maigari among the seven contenders for the royal seat.
Theanalyst reports that Lokoja Emirate Kingmakers forwarded the name of the new Maigari of Lokoja, to state ministry of local government and Chieftancy Affairs, who later forwarded same name to Governor Bello, who approved the decision of the kingmakers today, Monday 8th of January 2024 .
