Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has called on the people of the State to always reflect on the importance of unity, togetherness, compassion and understanding for peaceful coexistence.

Gov. Bello gave the charge at the official inauguration of a Multi Million Naira Ultra Modern Mosque in Ajiyolo Ajikpome, in Dekina local government area, says there is no alternative to unity and peaceful coexistence.

The Mosque building Inaugurated was facilitated by Hon. Yakubu Okala, the State Auditor General.

Gov. Bello who was represented by the Governor Elect, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, stressed the importance of living together in harmony, urged the people of the State to see the mosque as a symbol of unity when people individually collaborate with Government for all round development

” This edifice represent a symbol of an enduring strength of the Community by an individual who is passionate about development if we collectively work together and contribute our quota”.

” Let us always reflect on the importance of unity, togetherness, compassion and understanding in our relationship as a people in guiding our love for the state”.

” Our unwaivering commitment to the State in general and not what separate us should be our driving force. We are better united”.

” Just like this project was conceptualized with the sole intention of fostering unity, let us learn to live together and work collaboratively to make the State a better place to live in”.

” What we need in our state to remain the envy of all with the God given resources at our disposal is a sincere commitment by each one of us to see a united Kogi State”, Gov. Bello said

The Governor described Alhaji Yakubu Okala as a beacon of light and peace, worthy of emulation, says all that the State needs to take it rightful place in the comity of developed State is for individuals to have the mindset of a united Kogi State for the future generation.

While he praised the sincere commitment to build an ultra modern mosque by Alhaji Okala as commendable, Gov. Bello described him as a transparent leader per excellence, having made the unity of the State, through hardwork, commitment to serving diligently and building a mosque fir spiritual rejuvenation his priority.

In his remarks, the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar, said the project was a demonstration of the intention of Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala to contribute to the unity and growth of Islam.

The speaker reminded citizens, particularly Muslims on the need to propagate unity in the State, prayed to Almighty Allah to grant all the blessings inherent in the construction of such projects to Alhaji Okala.

The speaker also applauded the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for giving the Accountant General of the state the opportunity to serve the state, noting that it has afforded him the opportunity to demonstrate his passion for humanity in general, and Islam in particular.

Speaking at the Commissioning, Alhaji Yakubu Okala said the building of the mosque was his idea of providing a place of worship to unite the people, urged them to strive for peaceful coexistence at all times.

Highlights of the occasion was the Juma’a Service led by the chief imam which was attended by Gov Yahaya Bello among others worshiper.
