The immediate past Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the 9th Assembly, Senator Smart Adeyemi in fulfilment of his promised has embarked on constructing 3 classroom blocks each in GSS Abugi, Sarkin Noma LGEA primary school in Lokoja local government, koton karfe in kogi local government and iyara in Ijumu Local Government respectively.
Speaking to newsmen, at the site, Hon Daudu Sadi stressed that Smart passion for education made him embarked on the projects.
He said the gesture was aimed at improving the quality of education of the younger generation to enable them to compete with their peers in other places.
The legislative aide further explained that construction of three classroom blocks would soon commence in the remaining 4 local government areas to aid teaching and learning of pupils who have been learning under terrible conditions in public primary schools.
In a remark, representative of the community, Hon. Umar ya’u, said the senator’s gesture was laudable and appreciated for reaching out to them.
He said: “Prior to the infrastructural overhauling and construction works carried out by Senator Adeyemi, the primary schools were in a sorry state of dilapidation.
Head teacher of Sarkin Noma LGEA primary school, Lokoja,Malam Dogara Lawal,commended senator Adeyemi for embarking on construction of classrooms blocks.
Lawal, who was overwhelmed appealed to senator Adeyimi’s successor to emulate his predecessor who he described as “best senator Kogi west ever had”
In his own contributions, representative of JOHATO NIG LTD, Mr. funsho Olarewaju, whose company is handling the projects said “I can allay the fears of Sarkin Noma community about the quality of the job we shall deliver here. It cannot be different from the durable job Senator Smart Adeyemi is known for in the past four years thereabout.” Olarewaju Said.
