By Aliyu Abdulwahid

The Northern Senators Forum has donated N58 million to families of victims of the Tudun Biri military drone attack in Kaduna State.

The Nigerian military’s drone bombed the village in a mistaken identity last Sunday, with over 100 people killed and several others injured.

The Forum donated N58 million when they paid a condolence visit to the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani on Saturday.

The senators called for a thorough investigation into the ugly incident and for punishment to be meted out to those found culpable.

Sani, in a tweet on X (formerly Twitter), said he had the honour and privilege of receiving Senators of the Federal Republic under the auspices of Northern Senators Forum, who were in Kaduna to condole with the government and people of Kaduna State over the unfortunate Tudun Biri military drone attack.

“The Northern Senators Forum led by Senator Abdul Ningi joined the call for a thorough investigation into the unfortunate incident and for exemplary punishment to be meted out to those found culpable to serve as a deterrent to others. They donated the sum of N58 Million to the families of the victims of the unfortunate incident.

“In my response, I urged our Distinguished Senators to take a critical look at our laws and update them to strengthen our security agencies.

“It is by strengthening our laws and the security architecture that we can avert future tragic occurrences. I thanked them for their show of solidarity and support for our people at this crucial moment,” Sani said.
