A visit to the historical tomb site of HRH Emir Of Kano, Alu maje Lakwaja, or Alu Babba,in Lokoja,Kogi state by Architect Shariff Danlami Garba and One of the late emir’s great-grandson , Alhaji Bala Isah.
Recall that the late emir known then as Aliyu Mai sango,was exiled to Yola and then after a rebellion there to Lokoja, the capital of the then new Northern Nigeria where he returned to his Tasswuff studies. He died there in 1926 and was buried in his Kabawa residence in 1926.
During the administration of Malam Ibrahim Shakarau, the Kano state government renovated the tomb and constructed blocks of classrooms in the premises.
