Insecurity:Bandits attack Travelers on Kabba – Obajana – Lokoja Road.

The recent  upsurge in attacks by bandits who now have a free day on the federal highways in Kogi state especially the Kabba- Obajana-Lokoja road wherein commuters are attacked by these men of the underworld needs to be addressed by the authorities.

Despite, Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration famed success on security of life and properties in the state since he assumed duty in 2016, current happenings along the Obajana – Kabba axis calls for worries as commuters are being attacked at will by the bandits.

Just yesterday at around 5pm, a Director with the federal civil service, Chief Akinola Fagbemi was attacked by bandits, who according to eyewitnesses dressed in army camouflage while some of them in black between the Gada Biu and Apata community.

THEANALYST gathered that the bandits jumped into the road unexpectedly as the people ran into them but narrowly escaped with gun wounds.

It will also be recalled that on 8th October, some people who were traveling with the corpse of the Imam of Aiyegunle -Gbede who died in Lokoja were kidnapped between Oshokoshoko and Apa communities, same day Hon Jethro Funsho Oni was attacked and his driver was kidnapped.

Since after then there have been reports of kidnapping on Okene – Kabba road, infact the son of the APC vice chairman in Egbeda ward, Kabba-Bunu local government, named Joshua was kidnapped three days ago and released after an undisclosed amount of ransom was paid while about 8 victims are still with the kidnappers waiting for their ransom before they will be release.

Traveling through Kabba – Lokoja road these days now become a nightmare as commuters suffered untold hardship from the bandits any day they struck.

Meanwhile, one of our reporters placed a call to the PPRO, Kogi State Command, who said he was not aware but promised to  confirm from the DPO Obajana.
