The Embattled Lokoja Local Government chairman of NNPP, Hon. Muhammed JIbril a.ka Alhaji -Alhaji, says he remains the substantive chairman of the party.
JIbril stated this while reacting to his suspension on Tuesday by Hon. Abubakar Ibuku Muhammed a.k.a Bukky’s faction for alleged Anti-party.
THEANALYST reports that JIbril, was on Tuesday suspended by some factional members of NNPP led by Bukky.
Bukky, who announced the suspension, accused the Chairman of allegedly canvassing for opposition party candidate ahead of Saturday election.
But JIbril in an interview with ThEANLYSTNG, Wednesday, said the suspension was in variance with the party’s constitution, and described it as illegal.
He denied all the allegations credited to Bukky, stressing that Bukky is not qualify to suspend him because he is not a registered member of NNPP.
“You’re all aware of the recent happenings within our party in Lokoja Local Government, where some few elements gathered and said they have suspended me.
But I want to unequivocally say that I remain the NNPP chairman of Lokoja Local Government.
These are misguided outsiders who want to cause confusion, unfortunately their action is a nullity because it is illegal and against the constitution of the party.
We shall not allow impunity and brigandage in our party and if they want to remove me, they must follow due process.
We had a meeting today at the state party secretariat with state executive , wards chairmen and youths leaders were fully in attendance.
Part of the resolution adopted according to him was the suspension of Hon. Abubakar Ibuku Muhammed Bukky from the party”
The embattled chairman further alleged that Hon.Bukky is not a registered member of NNPP. “As at the time of this interview,Bukky contested February senatorial election without membership card,the party gave him the ticket because there was no aspirant vying for the senatorial slot” he said.
He maintained further that all state Executive members,ward Chairmen of the party in a meeting today, dissociated themselves from the purported suspension, saying they were not consulted.
JIbril reiterated his commitment and unalloyed loyalty to NNPP and it authentic leadership.
