In continuation of their campaign tour, the SDP campaign trail on Monday landed in Ward D, Lokoja local government.
Addressing party supporters at the campaign ground in Madabo, the governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP)in kogi State, Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka who was represented by the Chairman of Lokoja Local Campaign Council,Hon Danladi Baba budon, sympathised with teachers in the state for what he described as their years of suffering and hardship under the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Baba Budon,a one time member representing Lokoja 2 state Constituency,vowed that if SDP Guber candidate Ajaka,
Is elected on November 11, he would wipe away the tears of not only the teachers in the state but kogites in general.
Budon,who described teachers as the pillar and backbone of all the sectors in the state, said in line with Muri’s welfare programs, he’ll empower youths ,women and create wealth for human development.
He maintained further that
with the humongous resources accruing to the state every month, Kogi teachers had no business complaining about non-payment of teachers salaries, arrears and minimum wage among other benefits.
The former lawmaker appealed to the teachers not to be deceived by whatever good gestures that are coming from the government ahead of the election, describing them as desperate measures to win the forthcoming poll.
Also speaking,a one time Chairman of Lokoja Local Government and leader of SDP in ward D, Hon Sirajudeed Yusuf Abdullahi appealed to the people of the area to come out on November 11 and cast their votes for SDP.
He assured them of their safety as according to him the era of intimidation,ballot box snatching is over.
In his remarks, a former Chieftain of APC, Alhaji Ahmed Bala Bello a.k.a Setraco, reiterated Muri’s commitments to rescue Kogi state from the maladministration of APC led government.
According to him : “Whatever they are promising to do for you now is fake. It is because they want to deceive you again to vote for them. You have been crying over your challenges but they turned deaf ears to your demands. Suddenly, they are coming to give you one mudu of rice and make fake promises to you.
“Don’t allow them deceive you again. Whatever they couldn’t do for you eight years and they are making promises to do them now; it is because another election is around the corner and they need your votes.
“If you mistakenly return APC they will surely abandon you again”. Bello said
The event was attended by Rt.Col Ndamadu Ndalugi, Hon Baba budon, Engineer Ndarani,Gimba sharif attati,women and youths group among many.
