Kogi 2023: Shatima Flags off Kogi Guber Campaign, Reiterate Fed Govt Commitment To Complete Ajaokuta steel

Barely 33 day to November governorship election in kogi state,the ruling APC in the state on Sunday flag off it governorship campaign with the vice president,Kasim Shatima in attendance.
The event which took place at the Muhammadu Buhari Square,was attended by the former governor of Kano state and national chairman of APC,Dr Abdullah Umar Ganduje,Gov. Dapo Abiodu,and the chairman of governors forum,Gov Abdulrasaq of Kwara state.

The carnival like ceremony was attended by thousands of APC supporters , National and state lawmakers.

Thousands of cheering supporters welcomed Vice President Kashim Shettima today to kogi State where he attended the flag-off of the Governorship campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo for the state gubernatorial election scheduled for November,11 2023.
Addressing the mammoth ground ,vice President Shatima Called on the over two million electorates in kogi to cast their votes for the apc flag bearer, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododoa and his running mate,Joel Oyibo to sustained the laudable achievements of gov Yahaya Bello.

He noted that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration was continually working very hard to create an environment that makes it much easier for nigerians.

Shatima promised that with the appointment of minister of Steel from kogi state, Ajaokuta steel complex will be completed.

The Vice President further stated that Tinubu administration was looking at ways to solve infrastructure and economic issues stressing that the appointment of Prince Shuiabu Abubakar Audu as the minister of steel development by Tinubu was done in other to complete the Ajaokuta steel company been the largest industrial base of the country government would soon complete the steel plant before the end of this year” Shatima said.

‘We are here to admonish you not to be violent throughout the campaign processes and the election because victory is ours. We are here to win and not to fight. But we must ensure that every vote must count. With these few remarks, let me use this opportunity to present to you our in-coming governor of Kogi State, ,’ he said.
Earlier in his speech,the National chairman of APC, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje thanked the good people of kogi State, and all the APC governors present.

‘My job is just to thank all our National leaders for coming to identify with us. With the people (crowd) , APC is the ruling party, we cannot afford not to win, So, We will win the election.

Ganduje performed the official handing over of APC flag to the governorship candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo.

In his own remarks, the Chairman of National Campaign council in kogi state, Gov. Dapo Abiodun, said ” We are here to present to you our candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo. We are here to kick-start the victory of APC in kogi state, you have voted for APC in all previous elections and we have no doubt in our minds that you are going to vote for APC and bring Ahmed Usman Ododo as your next Governor of Kogi state”.

Also speaking,‎ Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi state commended the APC governors for devoting time to attend the flag-off. He also urged the people to be peaceful and shun violence during the election.

I want to assure that in this election, we will not only win; we will win the 21 local government areas. Let me assure you that we shall win overwhelmingly.We are going to have a governor that you can access, a governor that can empower both the young and old and by the grace of God, APC shall come victorious.

The Governorship candidate of APC, Ahmed Usman Ododo thanked the good people of kogi State, and all the APC governors and dignitaries present ” I sincerely appreciate and thank all our National leaders for coming to identify with us and also appreciate all the people that came to celebrate with us”.

The well-attended rally was interspersed with goodwill messages from APC state governors, APC National Chairmanship; Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, The chairman of National Campaign council, Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, and Gov. Abdulraman Abdulrazak of Kwara state.

Other dignitaries include, Minister of Steel, Hon. Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, member of House Representatives, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Prof Julius Ihonvbere, Sen. Jibrin Isah Echocho representing Kogi East Senatorial district, Senator Abubakar Sadiq Ohere, representing Central Senatorial district, Senator Sunday Karimi from Kogi west Senatorial zone.
