Unknown persons, suspected to be hoodlums, have allegedly attacked the Social Democratic Party (SDP) secretariat in Kogi state and destroyed billboards, posters and windows.
Briefing reporters on Sunday in Lokoja, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of SDP ,Hon. Sam Ranti Abenemi, said the attacks were carried out on Sunday to intimidate the party faithful in kogi state over their unwavering commitment to restored sanity in governance.
He decried the action and said that the party and it candidate, Alhaji Yakubu Murtala Ajaka wouldn’t be distracted by what he described as political violence.
He said some hoodlums has earlier visited the SDP Secretariat threatening to attack the office, if they refuse to pull down President Bola Tinubu’s banner which hosted the former Tinubu/ Shatima campaign office before Ajaka defected to SDP.
“If our members reacted to that it would create problem, but SDP as (a) law abiding political party, we always caution our members to be law abiding and shun political violence,” Abenerni said.
He appealed to Party supporters in the state to remain calm and law abiding.
