The Nigeria Immigration service (NIS) Kogi state Command, on Monday Honoured the retiring Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration service (NIS) Kogi command, Mr Taiwo Yunusa Musa.
The pull out parade which was held in honour of Yunusa took place at the command’s headquarters in Lokoja the Kogi state capital.
Speaking to officers of the NIS during the valedictory session Yunusa said, “I have left Kogi state Command better than I found it, keep the good things and drop the bad ones.”
He acknowledged that he could only achieve so much with the assistance of his fellow officers. He appealed to anyone who will succeed him not to “throw away the ideas we stand for”.
Yunusa who described Kogi state command as the most distinguished in the country, promised to be an ambassador of the NIS, adding that he will always be ready to assist whenever his attention is required
“Today, I have reached my mandatory 35 years in service,as I bow out,I want to appeal to all of you to be hardworking,reliable and worthy of emulation ” he said.
He appealed to the officers and men to extend the same corporation they gave him to the present acting comptroller DCI Adetula who he described as a dedicated officer.
Speaking with newsmen in his office ,the Acting Comptroller, NIS Kogi command , DCI Tomisin Adebola Adetula, described retiring Comptroller Yunusa as a hardworking who joyfully carried out the 35 years mandate of his Service and has made fantastic contributions in the cause of his career.
Adetula, who is the NIS state passport Officer, reiterated his determination to improve on the legacies left behind by retired comptroller Yunusa, stressing that he’ll ensure that the NIS Kogi state command, move to its permanent site during his tenure.
Acting Comptroller Adetula wishes the retiring Comptroller Yunusa, sound health to enjoy his retirement and God’s blessings in his future endeavours.
