Kogi State commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo has been described as a “palace jester playing the role of a boot licker with high propensity to appease his pay masters.”
A group, Kogi Rebirth, disclosed this in a press statement issued in response to Fanwo’s reaction to the vow by Igalas not to vote for All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
The statement signed by the chairman of the group, Amos Okpanachi, noted that Fanwo has “taken governance to a low level with his poor mannerism, sycophantic display and dead conscience in work ethics”.
The group said it was amazed that Fanwo could exonerate Gov. Yahaya Bello from tribalism when against the practice, he openly imposed an Ebira man as the state APC chairman.
The group also wondered how “Fanwo made infantile efforts to defend Bello who out of desperation to hand over power to Ebira wasted millions of Kogi money to purchase form for over 10 of his cabinet members and ended up forcing them to step down for his crony agenda”.
The group noted that political party is a mere organisation where people choose to belong to pursue their interest, but observed that “since Bello has turned APC to his property and decided to use it to pursue sectional agenda, only unpatriotic and selfish individuals like Fanwo will continue to think they do not have alternative but to be subjected perpetually to Bello’s whims and caprices all because of the small thing that drops to their pockets from their paymasters’ table”.
The group warned that Fanwo and his likes should not stoke ethnic crisis in Kogi state with the “crude and shameless egocentric politics they are playing with the people.”
