A group, Confluence Elite Movement (CEM) on Sunday declared its support for Alhaji Usman Ododo, Kogi state,All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate.
The group made the declaration during a stakeholders meeting held at Lokoja Club,in Lokoja.
Speaking at the meeting, President of the organisation, Engineer Abdulsalam Saqir Muhammed, who congratulated Alhaji Usman Ododo for emerging as the APC flagbearer, said that the support became necessary in view of Ododo’s contributions to the progressive of the group and the state in general.
According to him, Ododo’s emergence as the APC, candidate at a time the party was seeking unity and cohesion for proper positioning ahead of the 2023 poll is a welcome development and a divine intervention.
Engineer Muhammed assured the APC flagbearer that the Forum will continue to work hard to enlighten and mobilise it members across the state for the purpose of delivery Usman Ododo as elected governor of Kogi state at the forthcoming November governorship election.
He maintained that the track records of Ododo as a bureaucrat for a passion to consolidate the achievements of governor Yahaya Bello would led him to victory.
In his on remarks ,the Director of Local Government Administration (DLG) Lokoja local government, Alhaji Aliyu Omuya,who enumerated the contributions of Usman Ododo to the progressive of the forum before his emergence as APC governorship candidate, however appealed to members of the forum to support Ododo’s aspirations for the development of Kogi state.
Also speaking,Hon. Umar Aliyu, member -Elect, Lokoja 2 constituency, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues from Kogi/Kk state constituency,Hon. Idris Aliyu,thanked the forum members for their support before, during and after their elections.
Representative of Alhaji Usman Ododo,Barrister Zakari Abbas, commended the group and assured them of Ododo’s determination to partner with them in the interest of peace Unity and progressive of Kogi state.
Abbas who donated promotional materials to the group, promised to deliver their good will messages to the APC flagbearer who said would be attending the next meeting.
The resolution which was led by the president of the group, Engineer Abdulsalam Saqir Muhammed,was attended by Hon.umar assignment, Hon. Idris Aliyu,Kogi/KK state constituency and the DLG Lokoja Local Government, Hon.Aliyu Omayu.
