Ganduje’s War On Truth

By Sulaiman AbdulMalik

Governor Ganduje

It was a dizzyingly unpleasant moment for Gov. Abdullahi Ganduge of Kano state, immediately the news filtered into the air of the Paris parleys between Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President Elect and his former boss now foe, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso over Tinubu willingness to co-opt the former Kano state governor into the propose government of national unity, although, the details is not yet out. Kwankwaso is now the most popular politician in Northern Nigeria, a fact nobody can deny.

The governor who is in his waning days in office, and all that has come and gone, suggests that he hasn’t realize that power has left him and now he is less important to the system, a reality he most grapple with.

An audio voice is in circulation, which indicates that Ganduge is bitter and sad about the plan rapproachement between Tinubu and Kwankwaso. In the audio, he said that Tinubu candidacy was responsible why he lost the state to Kwankwaso’s men.

In his pursuit of Kwankwaso downfall, Ganduge has forgetting that he will one day quit power and be made to give account of his actions. His major preoccupation since assumed office is how to undermine, malign, ridicule and demystify his political benefactor, Sen. Kwankwaso who he twice deputized before becoming a substantive governor in 2015, all courtesy of Sen. Kwankwaso.

Oftentimes, Ganduge never hide his disdain towards Kwankwaso with provocative actions which were directly targeted him, include denouncing Kwankwaso’s superlative performances that was generally rated high across the country.

Kwankwaso who is a performer and champion of the poor. His footprints in Kano was indelible and everlasting, one major reason why Kawanas and the entire North continue to revered and believe in his personality.

The height of Ganduge’s assault against him was when the former left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to PDP, penultimate, in preparation for 2019 general elections.

That dramatic move re-wake the already comatose, impotent PDP in the state and the party went ahead to swept off Ganduge from office but federal mighty assault on voter rights and ochestrated brutality, forcefully returned Ganduge back to power. This was a momentary sigh of relief for Ganduge but the level of anxiety was actually growing among the larger populace across the state and strangely, Ganduge and his palace courtiers like the arrogant APC State Chairman, Abdullahi Abass never realize it.

However, the provocation and affront on Kwankwaso didn’t stop, even after being rigged back into power, this time around, he move against the age long or over a century old Kano Emirate and subsequently, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi was dethroned via trumped-up charges.

Among Ganduge’s misdemeanour against the people of Kano State was his unpopular decision to cancel several of Kwankwaso’s legacy projects that are very dare to the people of Kano State, including physical structures, Schools, Hospitals, abolishing foreign students scholarship for indigent, he stop the popular social reorientation program for unmarried women, demolished several markets, in fact, it was the public outcries that saved the several beautiful overhead bridges in state when he wanted to demolished them.

And surprisingly, in the face of all the provocation, Sen. Kwankwaso, a decent and calculative politician, remain silent and unperturbed and this was his bulwark against Ganduge actions.

The outgoing Gov Ganduge must come to terms with the realities and stop waging war against the truth. In less than ten 10 days from now, he will be out of power and there will be nothing to bargain with on the corridor of power. in a contemporary Nigeria Politics today, he is inconsequential, in fact he is a liability to the system. People will echo and call for justice on some of his actions eg the Gandolar saga, converting state’s assets and properties to his family and cronies, induced 2019 election violence against the people, misappropriation of state fund etc .

So, his delusional dream and hope that he will win Engr. Abba Kabir, (Gida Gida), the governor elect, in court is nothing but a fake hope. Also his false claims of election fraud is bristle and nothing but a misplaced priority and an effort in futility that will crumble like a park of cards.
