2023: Kogi NNPP In Disarray As Executives , Leaders, Resign From The Party

The State Party Chairman of New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Hon.Sulaiman Abubakar has expressed concern that efforts to reconcile the aggrieved stakeholders in Kogi State NNPP has proved abortive.

This revelations came up at a recent stakeholders meeting held In lokoja. The chairman said the situation was a threat to the outing of the party in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

The factional leaders who were at meeting  said all efforts to bring back the leaders that left the party met a Brickwall.

Though, it was unanimously agreed that the warring camps should bury their differences since governorship election has come to pass,

A notable stalwarts of the party that contributed immensely to laying the foundation in the state,said he has contributed immensely to the progress of the party in Kogi State and nobody can override him as superior more than himself “.

“We want to state that jettisoning of the idea initiated to cement the cracks in the party will lead NNPP to nowhere but defeat come 2023”,

“If this happens, no one should blame us, because despite the ill-treatment meted out to us by those who believe they are more on ground than us, we shall see how they would win”he stressed.

“Let no one be deceived, as it is, our beloved party is in disarray in Kogi State and this must be addressed for us to be able to maintain our leading role in the state. The party is crumbling and this explains the gale of defection and resignation being witnessed daily.”

One of aggrieved leader from Kogi East noted that the current issues bedevling the party in Kogi State presently should be checked adding that it will be difficult to be surmounted, if the national leaders refuse to intervene”.

Enumerating his plans for the party before election in November, the governorship candidate of NNPP, Musa Mubarak expressed confidence of uniting all aggrieved persons, provide a level playing field for all and enshrine the principles of internal democracy in the party.

Mubarak praised the state chairman’s efforts and commitment done so far to resolve the party stakeholders in order to ensure every member’s interest is accommodated within the confines of the party’s constitution.

Recall that the Analyst.ng reports that the entire executive members of the party in Ankpa local government area of Kogi state, resigned their membership of the party.

The public Relations officer of NNPP in Ankpa local government, while addressing Newsmen,described the exit of Alhaji Ahmed Sani, who he described as the leader of NNPP in kogi East senatorial District as a monumental lost to the party in kogi state and eastern senatorial District in particular.

According to him, the party lacks formidable structures to become strong opposition party to contest the forthcoming November 11 Guber election in kogi state.
