Former Lawmaker Seeks Cancellation of Kogi Guber Primary

A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Lawmaker,Hon. Nathaniel Ojo Taiwo has appealed to the National Working Committee(NWC) of the party to nullify the Kogi Guber Primary election,held on Friday 14th April 2023

He made the call at a press conference on Sunday in Lokoja.

According to him the exercise was a sham,where some individuals sat at the corner of their houses, allocated results to their preferred candidate without recourse to APC guidelines and the constitution
.

He Called on the NWC of the party to nullified the primary election for the interest of peace and unity of the party.

“I strongly request that the exercise be nullified and a new primary conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner in the State. The All Progressives Congress (APC) is a beacon of truth and hope for us and future generations.

“Kogites should not perceive such a high level of impunity as a modus operandi in the Party’s operations. All Progressives Congress (APC) NWC, must take the proper steps to protect the image of the Party,” he said.

Nathaniel further explained that on April 14th 2023 , he and teaming card carrying members of the party waited patiently for the electoral officers to come and conduct election to no avail.

After waiting for several hours ,we conducted our elections by 2pm in the presence of security agents and agents of Sen Adeyemi, Ododo and other aspirants” he said.

He cautioned the party hierarchy on the need to learn from the just concluded 2023 elections,where APC leaders loses their strong holds, including Gov matawaIle that supervised the sham election in kogi state

When you review the results of presidential election, Eastern senatorial District, brought over one hundred and seven thousand votes ,West with 70 thousand votes while the central senatorial District brought 50 thousand votes,adding that if the party failed to intervene it may affect it chances in future elections.

He announced that after waiting in vain for the electoral officers, they conducted parallel primary elections across the 21 Local government areas, with Smart Adeyemi emerged winner,with 103 thousand votes.

Nathaniel appealed to all the contestants to follow due process in seeking redress in the interest of the state and the party .
