The National Chairman,
All progressive Party,
Blantyre Street,
Wuse 2 Abuja.
FAILURE OF THE KOGI STATE CHAPTER OF THE PARTY TO ORGANISE ELECTION FOR DELEGATE WHO WILL VOTE TO PRODUCE THE NEXT GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE IN KOGI STATE 2023
The above subject refer we are card carrying members of the APC and we are people of high integrity that believes in the principle of democracy.
We have suffered for this party in Kogi state to see that the tents of Democracy is entranched in our party all our struggles is a departure from the undemocratic ways that PDP was used to before we all rejected that Party in Kogi state. It is constitutional that all delegates from all the wards in Kogi state must be elected and the delegates are the ones to choose the Governorship candidate of our great part which is scheduled to hold in a couple of months time.
To our chargine the Governor have directed all his political cronies across the ward to just write all the names Of delegate without going through election which is internal democracy used to choose delegates.
We therefore call on you Mr chairmen to please reject all the names submitted as evil lost to deprive the people of Kogi state good leadership and making the right choice of leadership, we again urge the chairman to immediately order that election be conducted in all the ward monitored from by national office in order to prevent Anarchy in the state.
Open letter to the National Chairman of the APC, Sen Abdullahi Adamu on the activities of the Governor of Kogi State leading to the forth coming party guber primaries.
The All Progressive Congress was built on the foundation of Justice and fair play and this made it different from other political parties and platforms in the country. The party continues to have inflows of members across all stratas of the Nigerian society because of this considerations. So far, the APC peer reviewed against other parties in the country is considered the best in its dispensations of political tenets that is fair and just to all and a new type of political dispensation built on those foundations.
You will recall that prior to the 2015 election that produced our amiable President, Mohammadu Buhari, as the candidate of the APC, the governor of our state, Yahaya Bello, was not even a member of the party. He joined the party after the victory of our President when he was taken by somebody to be introduced to the President. He then contested the guber primary of the state which he came second to the late Prince Abubakar Audu who the primary election and the death of the winner of that election by Providence gifted him the opportunity after all legal tussle to become the governor of the state and the rest became history.
It is no longer news that Governor Yahaya Bello, became the governor of the state by default but was greatly supported by majority of the party stakeholders for the sake of the party progress and it is surprising that he is now turning around to play God. This is because it has come to our knowledge as stakeholders of the party that the governor has already put in motion the process of choosing delegates for the next guber primaries of the party by surreptitiously hand picking his cronies and friends who would do his bidding in voting only his preferred candidate to emerge as the APC guber candidate in Kogi state.
I believe that democracy is the government for the people, by the people and of the people and not for the governor, by the governor and of the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello. This is a dangerous precedence that this party must not allow to fester or succeed as this, I warn, have the capacity to damage all the good democratic tenets our party was built upon, and, your Excellency, we all knows the implications.
Democracy is certainly a game of numbers and no individual no matter how powerful must be allowed to take upon himself the responsibility of a coronator as this rights by democratic tenets all over the world belongs to the people and the stakeholders of the party and the APC in Kogi state is not an exception. Our people now knows they are the legitimate recruiter of leadership and they are ready to fight for that right and I want to use this opportunity to warn the party as a stakeholders who has paid her dues in this party and closer to my people that if this antics of the governor is left unstopped by the leaders of the party, then the road leading to perdition with grave consequences for the party in the Presidential and guber elections of 2023 will have been laid.
Finally, I want to request the leadership of the party at the national level to quickly call the governor to order and also adopt a transparent and democratically allowed process that is in tune with the Constitution of the party to bring about a peaceful and acceptable primary election to produce a candidate acceptable to majority of members of the party to sell to the electorates in the next Kogi guber election to emerge democratically in Kogi state. A stitch in time saves nine.
Accept my sincere regards and faithfulness, always.
Long Live, the APC.
Long Live the federal Republic of Nigeria.
Signed.
