The presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), received a boost on Thursday, as a non governmental organization with support base across Kogi state declared support for the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima come February 25th 2023 presidential election.
The group, operating under the aegis of Nigerians Unite For Tinubu-Shettima Mandate (NUFTS) in a world press conference in Lokoja, said their support for the Tinubu/Shettima was necessitated by the duo’s patriotism, and capacity to deliver the much-needed dividends of democracy, as well as their pan-Nigerian approaches to issues of national concerns.
President of the organisation and Special Adviser to state Minister,Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on contact and Mobilization,Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, Comrade Kunle Ola maintained that NUFTS what to drew attention of Nigerians to the people-oriented policies, and infrastructural transformation that defined the tenures of the APC’s presidential and vice presidential candidates, in Lagos, and Borno states respectively.
Comrade Ola said their support for Tinubu/Shettima, in the face of the subsisting ambition of other candidates, is a demonstration of their desire to support competence, rather than sentiment.
According to him the organisation with support across the state would deliver over 500,000 thousand votes for Tinubu-Shatima on Saturday.
To this end, Comrade Kola therefore appealed to all kogites and Nigerians in genera to come out enmass to vote for Tinubu-Shatima and all APC flagbearers on Saturday February 25th 2023.
to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), mobilise support for, and prepare to vote for the realisation of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.
“At this time in the life of our dear nation, we must jettison sentiments, ethnic and religious affiliations, and opt rather for candidates with pan-Nigerian outlook, urbane, cerebral, track records of achievements, and above all, those with unifying capacities.
“We make bold to say that, a Tinubu/Shettima joint ticket, has all that we have enumerated above, hence our resolve to commit to its actualisation and realisation’ he said.
He commanded the minister of federal capital Territory (FCT) Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu for her unalloyed support for Tinubu-Shatima project.
We want to use this medium to commend the Iron lady and honourable minister of federal capital Territory (FCT) Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu,for her support to human development programmes,her support to APC and Tinubu-Shatima project is unparalleled ” Ola said.
The press briefing was attended by coordinators and members across the 21 Local Government area.
