Islamic clerics,Friends, politicians and Lokoja indigenes on Sunday converged at Mount Pati Road, Lokoja, residence of Comptroller Abdulmajeed Yabagi to honour him over his new promotion and posting to
Nigeria embassy in USA, as an attache .
The dogged officer was recently promoted to the enviable position of the Comptroller Of Nigeria Immigration Service(NIS) and posted to Nigeria Embassy in United state of America,USA.
Yabagi , until his promotion was a Deputy Comptroller attached to Murtala Muhammed Airport,Lagos.
Comptroller Yabagi who has since been posted to Nigeria Embassy in United state of America USA,would soon resume.
The chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban,who led others Islamic clerics in prayers described the new position as a blessing not only to Yabagi families but to Lokoja community as a whole, add Comptroller Yabagi is well known for his exemplar traits and characters of Honesty, trustworthy, humble who is also kind to people around him” Sha’aban said.
He prayed to Allah to guide him on his new assignments.
Imam Sha’aban further commended the Gabi of Lokoja, Hon Sulaiman Baba Ali,who he described as a philanthropist and patriotic leader with an exemplary embodiments of human kindness
Also speaking,a one-time chairman of Lokoja local government council , Hon Suraj Yusuf Abdallah,noted that Yabagi is a patriotic ,humble ,friend and and philanthropist.
Abdallah who described the over decades family tight between Late Sheikh Yusuf Abdallah and late Sheikh Yabagi as divine, assured that the divine relationship would continue unabated.
The occasion was jointly celebrated with this year annual Maulud organised by Comptroller Abdulmajeed Yabagi.
Highlights of the annual Maulud Nabiyi includes, the appointment of former Speaker ,Kogi state House of assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam,as permanent Chairman, Comptroller Abdulmajeed Yabagi annual Maulud Nabiyi.
Comptroller Yabagi who was overwhelmed by the large turnout,thanked all those that graced the occasion.
The occasion was attended by chief Imam of Lokoja, Sheikh Muhammadu Aminu Sha’aban, Sheikh Abubakar Adamu, Khalifa Nurudeen Yusuf abdallah,who was represented by Malam Nurudeen Yusuf abdallah and sheikh Arif Yabagi.
Others are: Waziri of Lokoja, Alhaji Abdulrahman Idi, Hakimi of ward A, C, and D, Isah Baba Nasidi,Tafida of Dare, Alhaji Alfa Yabagi Dare, Mr Constant Lakpeni, Deputy Register, Federal University Lokoja and a host of others.
