In a Carnival -like on Monday in Abuja, thousands of Senator Smart Adeyemi supporters stormed the APC National Secretariat in support of the senator representing Kogi West senatorial District.
Senator Smart Adeyemi was at the party headquarters were he picked the All Progressives Congress (APC) form to contest the 2023 governorship election in Kogi State.
The senator who is serving his third term, is the second to obtained nomination form from Kogi West senatorial District,after Hon. Abiodu Faleke.
Adeyemi, who spoke with journalists after obtaining
the governorship nomination and expression of interest forms in Abuja, explained that he has the experience to make a difference in the state as Governor.
He also argued that he is contesting on the basis of equity, fairness and justice since nobody in Kogi West has ever mounted the Governorship seat of the State since creation.
He insisted that he is the most experienced in the race to turn the state around.
Kogi West senatorial District is the only senatorial District that didn’t produce the state first Executive since the state was created.
Recall that the Eastern senatorial District produced Late Prince Abubakar Audu, four years,Gov Ibrahim Idris,two term while his successor, Captain Idris Wada, served for 4 years.
The incumbent,Governor Yahaya Bello,from Kogi central senatorial District, is serving his constitutional two term.
