Lokoja local government Council Chairman, Honourable Muhammed Danasabe Muhammed on Monday inaugurated the construction of an ultramodern Security building tag GYB Security building and 20 market stalls at Lokoja old market.
The Chairman laid the foundation stone for the projects at Lokoja local government secretariat and old market Lokoja, respectively .
The building is expected to house the area’s vigilante outfit, the Operation Lungu – Lungu.
Danasabe said the conception of the projects was informed by the desire of his administration to create a legacy, formidable platform for security and economic development of Lokoja local government area.
He explained that the project would be executed under direct labour under the works department, Lokoja local government to avoid cost
The chairman revealed further that his administration would under take the construction of health centre at Abugi,in Lokoja 2 constituency, while empowerment programs of his administration would commence next month.
He said the 20 stalls market to be constructed,when completed, would unbundle the economic potentials of not only Lokoja , it’ll rejuvenate and stimulate the economy of Lokoja people.
He commended Governor Yahaya Bello whom he described as pacesetter and father of modern Kogi state.
Hon Danasabe appealed to people of the state, particularly residents of Lokoja Local Government Area to vote en mass for the APC in the forthcoming general elections to guarantee continue flow of dividends democratic and good governance.
