Crowther Memorial College (CMC) Class Of 83′ Holds Reunion Meeting, Pays Tribute To Late Obitogwale

The Crowther Memorial College (CMC) Old Students Association,Class of 83″ on Tuesday held a reunion meeting in Lokoja.

Welcoming members, President of the group,Chief John Arokoyo ,paid tribute to the founding president of the group Mr Benjamin Obitogwale who died last year.

Arokoyo described Obitogwale as a defendable and reliable leader, nothing that the class of 83 would continue to remember his contributions to the development of his alma mater and the Association as a founding father of the Union.

He commended the class of 83 for their quick interventions during the sickness and after the death of Mr. Obitogwale, and prayed God to forgive him all his shortcomings, grant the families and colleagues the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable lost.

Arokoyo who commended the Dan Madami of Lokoja ,Alhaji Danlami Sule,Hon Muhammed Sulaiman Idris for their contributions added that the prompt annual remittance to the national body by them amongst others made the class of 83 the best and relevant in the scheme of things at the CMC-OSA.

He thanked members for electing him as the president after the demised of his predecessor.

“We can recall that my election as the president of this class doesn’t prove me to be the best,but show of love and togetherness,God willing,I will try my possible best to pilot the affairs of the organisation to the best of my ability” he promised.

In her remarks, representative of CMC-OSA National body and Vice Chairman,Dr. Mrs. Cecilia Cook, commended the class of 83 for their contributions towards the development of their Alma mater and condoled them on behalf of the national body over the death of Mr Benjamin Obitogwale.

She called on parents to pay more attention to the education of their children stressing that without education no society would development.

In his contributions,Hon Muhammed Sulaiman Idris a. K.a Das,who traveled all the way from United States of America, to attend the reunion meeting,commended his classmates for organising the historic reunion meeting.

According to him,’this is the first time I am meeting some of my classmates in the last 39 years” he said

He assured the association of his determinations to give back to his Alma mater his best anytime he’s call upon to do so.

This year’s event was attended by Alhaji Jimoh Kolawale Lateef ,head boy,class of 83′ Hon Muhammed Sulaiman Idris,Dr (Mrs) Cecelia Coke, National vice chairman CMC-OSA,and member of class 74′ Vice president of class of 83,Hon. Abubakar Shuiabu,Dr Aminu Isah and Hon Shiru Lawal were also not left out.

Highlights of the occasion includes; condolence visit to the family of late Benjamin Obitogwale and Alhaji Sule Danja who had been sick for some years.
