The managing director, and CEO of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Dr George Moghalu, has expressed sadness over the passing of the the Maigari of Lokoja , Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi 111..
Moghalu, who led a NIWA team on a condolence visit to the bereaved family of the late Monach in Lokoja Tuesday, said that he was “not only reliable knowledgeable, he was dependable and somebody you could trust.
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya was in Yola on Saturday, where he paid condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman and former federal permanent secretary, Alhaji Ahmed Joda who died Thursday in Yola at the age of 91.
Governor Yahaya, in company of the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Engr Mele Kyari paid tribute to the late nonagenarian whom he described as a patriot who served Nigeria meritoriously in different positions and left behind indelible marks.
He described the Royal father as a unifier whose absence would be felt by the management of NIWA.

He was alway there for us, Maigari believed in unity and peaceful co-existence amongst Nigerians irrespective of your tribe or religious affiliations.
Moghalu advised the royal families on the need to maintained the legacy left behind by late Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Dr Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi 111.
The NIWA MD,who conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family as well as the government and people of Kogi State over the huge loss, praying God to grant the deceased Aljannat Firdaus.
Earlier, Hakimin Cikin Gida, Alhaji Tale Abbas, who welcomed the managing director and his entourage,thanked him for the visit and assured him of the royal family’s efforts to maintain the late Royal father legacy, especially with regards to the cordial relationship which exist among NIWA management and the royal family.
Among the delegation that accompanied the MD includes General Manage, Corporate Affairs, Alhaji Jibrin Darda’u among many others.
