The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) flagbearer for Lokoja 1 Constituency, Hon. Jerry Francis Folaromi and his Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency counterpart, Hon. Idris turaki, on Friday donated items worth thousands of naira to flood victims in Lokoja Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the dual explained that they were touched by the pains of the vulnerable people, who suffered loses over the rampaging flood adding that the relief materials is to reduce the agony caused by the flood.
“Our contributions to cushion the effects of flood victims in our immediate constitutes is as a result of our visit to some IDP CAMPS, especially within Lokoja metropolis, the relief materials we donated jointly is for the victims of flood in Lokoja wards, while that of Lokoja 2 constituency would follow immediately ” Folaromi explained.
Some of the items donated includes, foodstuffs such as tubers of Yam, textile materials, garri, rice, noodles, and soft drinks.
The relief materials were received on behalf of the community by the NNPP ward Chairmen from the effected area.
The event which took place at the party’s secretariat,has the blessing of NNPP, Lokoja local government chairmen,Hon. Alhaji Alhaji, state Publicity Secretary of NNPP, Hon Audu Dan Kano and a host of others.
