Member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Elder Leke Abejide has assured his constituents of his determinations to deliver the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of his constituents.
The lawmaker made the promised during an interview with journalists on Thursday in Abuja.
According to him plans have been concluded towards provision of N5 million to each community in the constituency
Abejide explained that the communities in Mopa-Amuro,Yagba West and Eastern Yagba federal Constituency which consist of over seventy one communities would benefit from the N5 million financial empowerment programs.
The lawmaker, who is representing Yagba federal Constituency under the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC) explained further that over 3,000 small scales entrepreneurs have benefited from vocational training, while cars, laptops, tricycles, motorcycles and mechanical tools and fertilizers in bulk were distributed to beneficiaries across the constituency under his poverty alleviation empowerment programs adding that he’ll remain focus on his educational programs which he described as bedrock of human development.
He noted that over One hundred and eighty three million naira had been paid for WEAC fees for indigents students and promised to extend the programs beyond his constituency
“I will extend my educational and other programs beyond Yagba to other constituencies including Lokoja/ koto federal Constituency, because we are one, with our laudable programs, the ADC is gaining more supporters across the state” he said.
On road rehabilitation, Abejide said he’ll undertake the rehabilitation of abandoned Egbe- Isanlu road to alleviate the sufferings of commuters, especially the rural famers.
He promised to remain focus on all his programs beyond 2023 and called on the people of Kogi state to remain peaceful before, during and after the forthcoming elections.
“As politicians, we must play the games according to the rules,we must avoid politics of hatred, blackmail and rancour, before, during and after the elections ” Abejide advised.
On his relationship with governor Yahaya Bello, the lawmaker commended the governor for his laudable projects.
“Governor Bello has never been bad to me, people are using his name negatively, recently,he personally invited me to attend a function in Abuja” he said.
Abejide noted that there’s need to join hand with governor Bello so that Kogi state can move to the highest pedestal of development.
The lawmaker who described himself as a liberal democrat ,however said his party the ADC, would be a party to be reckoned with in kogi state because of what he called as “alliance of progressives”
