It is with a heavy heart that I use this medium on behalf of the people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, to commiserate with the entire people of Lokoja LGA, the Emirate, Kogi West Senatorial District, Kogi state and Nigeria over the transition of our highly revered, foremost and paramount Maigari of Lokoja, HRH Alhaji Dr. Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi III, OON, who joined his ancestors on Wednesday, September 28th, 2022.
Indeed, one is still in shock, surprise and pains at the sudden departure and transition of the widely respected Maigari of Lokoja. It is even more heart rending that our well loved, compassionate and selfless Maigari of Lokoja joined his ancestors at a time when his profound and inspiring Royal, Fatherly counsel, blessings and prayers are most needed by all and sundry more importantly in Kogi West Senatorial District, Kogi state and across the country.
Though painful that the entire Lokoja Emirate, Kogi state and Nigeria have lost a very rare promoter of peace, unity and cohesion, a natural and trailblazing bridge-builder, a relentless and passionate advocate for meaningful development, and a consistent disciple of true nation building, we are happy that during his three decade long reign as the Maigari of Lokoja, HRH Alhaji Dr Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi III OON, made tremendous impact and achievements on all spheres of life.
One is particularly happy that during his 30-year reign as the enigmatic traditional ruler of Lokoja Emirate, HRH Alhaji Dr Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi’s legendary attributes of true, purposeful and responsive leadership was very evident in communities, towns and villages within Lokoja Emirate and across the entire Kogi state. All through his reign and lifetime, he provided proper leadership, guidance and direction to All his subjects through mutual understanding and respect, as well as providing the necessary platforms and opportunities for collective participation in All issues.
As I commiserate with the family, the Emirate, Kogi West Senatorial District, Kogi state and Nigeria over the transition of our highly revered and iconic monarch, HRH Alhaji Dr Muhammad Kabir Maikarfi III, I pray that Almighty Allah will grant everyone dear to him the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. I also pray that Almighty Allah will grant him eternal rest.
