Kogi Women Mandate has drummed support for the Hon. minister for federal Capital Territory (FCT) Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, to emerge Kogi State governor in 2023.
The leader of the group, Hajiya Yawo Nana, declared the group’s support after a solidarity meeting in Lokoja,on Monday.
Nana said the support of members of the group drawn from various women and youth development associations in Lokoja and the state , stemmed from the previous achievements of Dr Aliyu.
She said the minister had always supported women and youths to be self-reliant and employers of labour through her various empowerment programmes.
“We believe that if Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu accede to our calls, women and youths, aged and all residents of Kogi State will certainly benefit more from her various skills and talents development initiatives,” She said.
She described Aliyu as a bridge builder, noble daughter of Kogi State and philanthropist who had touched lives across the length and breadth of the state. She noted that with and without elective position or political appointment, Aliyu has been helping people, adding that they trust that this gesture will be extended when given opportunity to serve.
“I therefore, urge youth, men, women, religious and traditional associations across the state, to come forth and rally round her for a successful governorship contest.
“Therefore, based on her antecedent as wealth creator, job provider, great mobilizer, simplistic and humane lifestyle, youths’ empowerment and respect for elders, we have endorsed Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu as our Governorship hopeful on the platform of our great party, the All Progressive Congress, APC, for the forthcoming governorship election in the Kogi State,” She added.
