2023: Senator Smart Adeyemi Drums Support For Tinubu Shatima Ticket, Say They’re Well Equip To Rule

The Senator representing Kogi West senatorial District, Smart Adeyemi, has urged Nigerians to support the All Progressive Congress ( APC) presidential candidate, Senator Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shatima to ensure total victory in 2023.

Adeyemi made the appealed in a press conference on Sunday, in Abuja.

According to the lawmaker, Nigerians should look at the candidates, especially Tinubu-Shatima, based on their antecedents,not party or religion.

He explained further that based on his personal conviction, despite there of the same faith, Tinubu and Shatima are the best for the unity and economy development of Nigeria.

Adeyemi maintained that the dual had demonstrated their intellectual capacities and competence as governors of Lagos and Borno states respectively.

“Asiwaju Tinubu, in particular, demonstrated his pan-Nigerian disposition with his cabinet composition devoid of tribal or religious sentiments. He and Shatima are, in actual fact, Nigeria’s candidates that should be voted for because they are well equipped to take Nigeria to the greater height “

He announced that after wide consultations with his colleagues,he has proposed a bill that will ban same-faith presidential ticket by any political party after the 2023 general election.
“Section 84 of the Principal Act will be amended by inserting a new subsection 3 which will state thus: ‘No political party shall nominate candidates of the same religion as presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate after the 2023 election” he said.

Adeyemi, said he proposed the amendment on his conviction that if pass into law , it’ll bring about unity and development of the nation.

He commended the APC northern governors forum for zoning the presidency to the south, describing them as hero of democracy.
