Graduation:Taufiq Charges Graduands On Academic Excellence

Students of Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies Lokoja, have been charged to always strive towards achieving and maintaining academic excellence in their chosen career and in life.

Executive Chairman, Ijumu Local Government, Dr Taufiq Isah, stated this on Saturday while speaking at the graduation ceremony of the 2022 graduating set of Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Lokoja, Kogi State.

The ALGON Chairman, who was the Chairman of the occasion commended the proprietor of the institution, late Sheikh Yusuf Abdullah for his contributions to the development of education, described the institution as the best in the exercise of transmitting knowledge to their students.

Taufiq, who graduated from the school in 1981 commended the school for upholding academic excellence over the years and producing great global citizens, charging them not to rest on their oars, as there is still room for improvement.

The chairman donated the sum of N500,000 for school project and launched the maiden edition of the institution Magazine with sum of N 3000,000 respectively

In his welcome address, Principal of the school, whose speech was delivered by his Vice, Malam Yahaya Mambo, lamented on the debt profile owned by some parents.
According to him ” due to lack of payment of school fees by some parents,a whooping some of N5 million is owned by some parents who transferred their wards to other schools without redeeming their school fees they owned” Manbo explained.

He called on old students and well meaning individuals to donate towards the completion of the school projects,which includes: Fencing, Security, Hostels and school hall amongst many.

Highlights of the ceremony includes: presentation of awards to the overall best student,Maryam Ibrahim, Best student in Arabic studies, Abubakar Ibrahim Nyasa and launching of the maiden edition of the school magazine.

This year’s graduation ceremony was graced by Khalifa Nurudeen Yusuf Abdullah, Chairman of JNI, Ambassador Usman Bello, Hakimi of ward D,Malam Isah Ahmad Nasidi, Imam of Ette Community, Imam Muhammadu wandana, Alhaji Sulaiman Ibrahim,judges of Sharia courts,Secretary of Kogi state council of ulama’u,Alhaji Babaango Idris ¢amongst others.
