In a swift move that is very untypical of the Kogi state politician, New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Candidate for Kogi West senatorial District, Hon. Muhammed Abubakar Ibuku Bukky, doled out the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira(N5000,000) cash which he pledged to donate to Lokoja Durbar Committee during this year annual horse racing game ( Durbar).
THEANALYSTNG reports that Bukky who attended this year horse racing in Lokoja, donated the highest amount of money since the inception of the event over four years ago. year.
Receiving the money on behalf of the committee, Chairman of Lokoja durbar committee, Nima kabawa,thanked Bukky for fulfilling the promised he made.
According to kabawa,” this is the first time since the inception of Durbar or horse racing game in Lokoja that an individual made a promise and redeem it without the committee members even contacting him.
The movements Hon Bukky made the promise at the venue as chairman I know inside me he’ll redeem it without members of the committee even wasting their precious time pursuing shadows ” Kabawa said.
He called on others to emulate the NNPP candidate who he described as a philanthropist,honest and a politician with foresight,whose mission is to rescue Kogi West from injustice and marginalisation.
He assured Bukky of their determinations to reciprocate the good gestures adding that,” we want to assure you that, we are solidly behind you and our unalloyed support for your ambition remains in our agenda’ the Chairman assured.
Earlier, representative of Hon. Bukky, Comrade , Gimba Abdulsalam said Bukky made the donation to motivate the players with promised to do more next year.
He called on the people of Lokoja in particular and Kogi West in general to rally round hon Bukky, stressing that with Bukky as senator representing Kogi West come 2023, he’ll deliver the dividends of democracy to the door steps of the people of the constituent.
“I want to use this forum onbhalf of my principal,to appeal to all of us on the need to support Hon Bukky’s senatorial ambition to salvage our people from the injustice and marginalisation by few come 2023” Abdulsalam Said.
