The Ward D immediate past Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Lokoja Local government, Barrister Yahaya Labaran Danlami, have dumped the broom to take shelter under the umbrella of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi state.
The defector was received by ward D, PDP Chairman, Hon Maikudi Millionaire at the ward D Party secretariat on Wednesday in Lokoja.
Speaking to our reporter shortly after receiving the PDP membership card, Danlami boasted that the PDP will take over the State come 2023.
He called on all right-thinking people in the state who are in APC to join the PDP, saying the “APC is not a quality party”.
He also said, “By the grace of God, PDP will win the forthcoming general elections come 2023
“I have a full assurance that the PDP will win because I don’t have any doubts in my mind, that PDP will win ward D, Lokoja local government and the entire kogites will say bye-bye to APC”, he assured.
The former chairman who announced that others would soon join him, said, he will deploy his political arsenals against the APC in the area to ensure the party’s victory.
In his remarks, the leader of the party in the area,Hon Hadi Lawal, commended the former APC chairman for taken a bold steps.
” I want to welcome you and your teaming followers to PDP ,let me assure you that the PDP as a liberal party, wouldn’t victimise you, neither of your followers as together we would emerge victorious come 2023.
Lawal explained that with the defection of heavyweight like Barrister Labaran from APC to PDP, the party is sure of total victory both at the wards, Local government and state in general.
