Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf,a.k.a Assignment has been declared winner of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Lokoja 11 state Constituency primary election.
Returning officer of the electoral committee, Hon. Abdulrashid Muhammed declared Umar Aliyu Yusuf winner of the primary election held in Amusement Park,Lokoja on Thursday.
He announced that 25 delegates were accredited with two contestants vying for the seat of Lokoja 11 state Constituency.
He said Yusuf polled 25 votes to defeat Haruna Kabir Alfa who scored 0 votes.
“Having secured a total of 25, I therefore declare Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf a.k.a Assignment the winner of Lokoja 11 state Constituency
primary election,” Muhammed said.
In an interview with newsmen, Assignment appreciated God for the victory and promised to ensure that APC emerges victorious in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
He described his victory as victory for democracy noting that the task before all candidates on the platform of APC is enarmous, especially with the present economy crunch.
He thanked the delegates and party leaders for given him the opportunity to serve and assured them of his determination to justify the confidence reposed in him if voted.
In an interview, Alfa described the election as free and fair and pledged to work closely with Assignment and others to ensure victory for the party.
The election was monitored by APC Chairman,Lokoja local governments,Hon. Maikudi Bature,APC stakeholders Chairman,Hon. Sulaiman Aguye, INEC reps, Alhaji Muhammad Jamiu Abdulwahid amongst others.
