Hon.Ahmed Shehu Yabagi, has emerged the Flagbearer of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Lokoja 1 State Constituency.
Yabagi emerged through a consensus arrangement as announced by the electoral officer of the PDP, in Lokoja on Sunday.
Announcing the result at a primary election organised to affirmed the candidature of Yabagi,the PDP electoral officer for Lokoja 1 Constituency, Mr Emmanuel Edeh said the process was peaceful,transperant free and fair.
Edeh explained that despite the fact that Hon. Yabagi emerged as consensus candidate, the party organised election to affirmed Yabagi according to the electoral act and PDP Constitution.
He announced that 15 advoc – delegates participated in the election,with Hon. Ahmed Shehu Yabagi,scored 14 votes to emerged as the people’s Democratic party, Lokoja 1 Constituency Flagbearer.
Speaking to Journalists,Yabagi thanked PDP leaders, delegates and members of the party from Lokoja 1 Constituency for the trust and privilege granted him as the standard bearer of PDP in the forthcoming general election.
He equally thanked other aspirants for their understanding and agreeing to his emergence as the consensus candidate of the PDP for Lokoja 1 Constituency ,after his victory in the shadow primary election organised by the leadership of the party.
In a similar development, Hon.kashim Ishiaku Musa emerged as PDP candidate for Lokoja 2 state Constituency through consensus arrangement.
Announcing the result in Lokoja on Sunday, Comrade Victory Kpanachi who supervised the exercise said 14 delegates participated in the exercise which he described as peaceful and transperant.
Kpanachi further announced that Hon. Kashim Ishiaku Musa scored a total votes of 14 to emerged the PDP Flagbearer for Lokoja 2 state Constituency.
Hon. Musa, while speaking with Newsmen thanked delegates and assured them of his total commitment to serve them if given the mandate.
The exercised was withnessed by INEC,reps, Mr Muhammed Jamiu Abdulwahab and PDP Executives from Lokoja.
