Leading presidential aspirant and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has reiterated his commitment to focus on security and the economy should he emerge as the flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party [PDP] and subsequently President of Nigeria.
Tambuwal gave this indication on Monday
in Lokoja , in continuation of his engagements with stakeholders and delegates to People’s Democratic Party [PDP] forthcoming party primaries.
Speaking on the issue of insecurity in Nigeria, Governor Tambuwal said he security, economy and human development lives would be his main priority .
” With the current insecurity challenges,we must all work together to build this country and it’s only the PDP that can rebuild this country, We have done it before ,even here in Kogi state” he said.
The presidential hopeful said the main reason why Nigeria is facing insecurity challenges is lack of Political good will stressing that if given the mandate he’ll ensure that he tackle the issues.
Speaking on the economy, the former speaker said the current administration of President Buhari has rubbished whatever gain the PDP government made in the last 16 years adding that he would pay constant attention to the economic development of the entire country stressing that his administration would harness the abundant mineral resources in kogi state if voted as the president of Nigeria.
“We have done it before. We have the best hands in PDP to manage our economy. Not people who want to run for office and also manage our economy,” he said.
He promise to resuscitate the Ajaokuta steel company adding that he understand the politics and issues behind Ajaokuta’s decades of incompletion.
In his own remarks, Chairman Tambuwal Campaign Council, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, described Tambuwal as one leader who can rebuild Nigeria and return PDP to power, he appealed to Kogi delegates to vote for Tambuwal come May 28, 2023.
The event was attended by Former Governors Ibrahim Idris , Captain Idris Wada, former Deputy Governor of Zamfara state, Mahdi Aliyu Gusau, Former speakers of Kogi state house of Assembly among others.
