RAMADAN: Late Musa Nasidi Mosque Donates Foods Items, Cloths to widows, Orphans

Late Musa Nasidi mosque committee on Orphans, widows and aged women, has donated food items and cloths to over 100 Widows,Orphans and aged women in Lokoja.

The presentation took place at Late Maiunguwa Nasidi mosque Lokoja, on Saturday.

In his addressing, Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Musa Tanimu Nasidi, said their goals was to reach the less privileged in the society, especially Widows, Orphans and aged women.

He explained that the program is organised by Late Maiunguwa Nasidi mosque committee on Orphans, Widows and Less Privileged through individuals efforts and contributions.

Nasidi explained further that Caring for orphans is a significant part of Islam. “Orphans are mentioned 22 times in the Qur’an; their mistreatment is a serious sin, while nurturing and sponsoring them is an immensely valuable good deed.” he said.

Quoting from the prophetic Hadith: The Prophet (saw) said, ‘The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this’, and he (saw) held his two fingers together to illustrate.’

The chairman called on individuals, government and corporate bodies to assist the cause by providing support to the less privileged persons in the society so as to give them a sense of belonging.

Earlier, an Islamic cleric, Malam Mansur Nayashi, admonished Muslims ummah to cater for orphans and less privileged in the society.

Nayashi said your status as Muslim in the eyes of Allah is dependent upon your righteous actions, and “one of the ways we can achieve righteousness is by giving to orphans, widows and less privileged in our society “ the Cleric said.

Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke with our reporter expressed gratitude to the committee for the donations.
