Kogi West Senatorial Seat: Senator Adeyemi, formally declares

Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Senator Smart Adeyemi, has formally declared his intention to re-contest for Kogi Senatorial District on the platform of the APC.

Adeyemi made the declaration on Saturday in Lokoja after meeting with APC Lokoja Local Goverment Executives, leaders and chieftains of the party at the Party’s secretriat in Lokoja.

Adeyemi, also a ranking senator, appreciated the APC leaders for believing in him, saying that the meeting was to get prepared for the party’s primary election scheduled for May 2023.

He noted that there was a need for him to keep the leaders, stakeholders and party Executives that constituted the delegates to the party primary of his ambition to represent their interest at the national Assembly.

According to the Lawmaker, he made the decision to re-contest following wide consultation with party Leaders, stakeholders and chieftains of APC across the seven local government areas.

“There is a need for a representative who has the capacity to make life-changing impacts in the senatorial district as witnessed between 2019 to date, despite the legal battle and the luck down during the Corona virus pandemics”

“People of Kogi West will benefit more from the largesse in the district when you give another mandate to serve because I have a large heart to bring positive transformation to Kogi senatorial district,” Adeyemi said.

Earlier in his opening remarks, Lokoja Local Goverment APC Chairman, Hon. Maikudi Bature, While welcoming Adeyemi, described him as an asset to kogi west and the state in general.

Bature said within the period under review, senator Adeyemi’s impeccable tracks records of achievements across the senatorial district are glaring and visible to see .

He assured him that delegates from the area would do the needful at the appropriate time.

Highlights of the formally declaration includes, solidarity messages from Women groups, Youths and APC supporters across the ten wards of Lokoja local Goverment Area.
