Hon.Ahmed Shehu Yabagi from Ward B,Lokoja Local Goverment,has won the People’s Democratic party, (PDP) shadow primary organised by the party.
The election which took place at the state PDP Secretariat on Tuesday,was contested by three aspirants from ward B; Hon. Muhammed Balga, Hon. Yusuf Maikudi Muhammed and Hon. Ahmed Shehu Yabagi.
The Chairman, PDP shadow primary,who doubled as the State PDP deputy chairman,Hon. Sam Ranti Abenemi, represented by Lokoja Local Goverment PDP chairman, Hon. Isah Ibrahim Saba, said that Hon Muhammed Balga scores 17 votes,Hon. Yusuf Muhammed 9 votes and Hon. Ahmed Shehu Yabagi scored 19 votes to emerge the winner.
Saba said the election was free,Fair and peaceful in accordance the Party’s Constitution.
speaking to THEANALYSTNG reporter, Hon. Yabagi described his victory as victory for democracy.
” I want to use this medium to express our profound gratitude to our leader, distinguished senator Tunde Ogbeha,for allowing a level playing ground through which delegates were allowed to elect candidate of the choice. Today’s victory for all of us and our great party” he said.
He appealed to his fellow contestants to join him, as the “real battle to rescue lokoja 1 state Constituency from APC, is a task that must be accomplish” Yabagi said.
The primary was organised by the leadership of the party from the area to streamline the numbers of aspirants from ward B in Lokoja Local Goverment, where PDP zoned its Lokoja 1 state Constituency seat.
